Clinical Application of Surgical Gowns and Surgical Drapes

In the surgical process of clinical medicine, infection is a universally unavoidable issue in the medical industry. Splashed blood, aerosols, and dust formed by airborne suspended fiber debris during surgery can all potentially become carriers of various pathogens. If they accidentally land on the important tissues and organs of patients during surgery, they may cause infection. Therefore, disinfectant instruments and consumables used in surgeries have also continued to advance in the fight against infections.

Through years of clinical practice, surgical gowns  purchase here  and surgical drapes purchase here  l have been gradually accepted. Sterile surgical drapes are used during surgery to prevent contact with unprepared surfaces and maintain sterility of environmental surfaces, equipment, and the area around the patient. Similarly, during surgical procedures, medical staff wear sterile surgical gowns to maintain a sterile surgical environment and reduce the risk of pathogen transmission to both patients and medical staff.

The water repellency and pore size of the fabrics used in surgical gowns and surgical drapes affect blood penetration and contribute to the performance of surgical gowns. Regardless of the material used to manufacture surgical gowns, they must be able to resist the penetration of liquids and microorganisms. In addition, surgical gowns are available in different sizes to ensure proper coverage for all medical staff.

During surgery, if the protective materials get wet, the risk of pathogen transmission increases. Therefore, the multi - use or single - use materials of surgical drapes and surgical gowns used in surgery should prevent liquid penetration. Reusable materials are usually composed of different tightly woven textiles and/or knitted cotton, or other fabrics that may be blended with polyester and/or chemically treated. These products must be durable and undergo multiple processing and treatment procedures to provide protection. Disposable surgical drapes and surgical gowns are usually made of non - woven materials from synthetic and/or natural sources, which may be combined with chemical treatment.
