In previous clinical treatment,
transferring critically ill patients was a rather laborious task. During
treatment and examinations across different departments, patients often had
difficulty getting up, which made clinical care challenging. In some cases,
intubated patients even experienced loosening or dislodgement of tubes due to
turning or transfer operations.
For long-term bedridden patients, weakened
physical mobility and decreased immune function make them prone to
complications such as pressure ulcers, deep vein thrombosis of the lower
extremities, pulmonary infections, and urinary tract infections. Implementing
standardized and effective nursing measures can prevent and reduce the occurrence
of these complications.
After long-term clinical nursing practice,
combined with the needs of medical staff and the user experience of patients,
the disposable patient transfer slider sheet has been developed.

What is the Disposable Patient Transfer
Slider Sheet Used For?
The disposable patient transfer slider
sheet is used for moving critically ill patients to reduce harm during
transfer, including transfer between beds.
It is widely applicable in various
departments, such as the Emergency Department, CT Room, X-ray Room, ICU,
Operating Room, Orthopedics Department, Surgery Department, Internal Medicine
Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, and Rehabilitation Room. In
the care of rehabilitation or critically ill patients, medical staff can use
the transfer slider sheet for auxiliary operations when transferring patients,
helping them lie on their sides, or cleaning them. Additionally, the disposable
patient transfer slider sheet has been widely used in outdoor emergency rescue,
nursing homes, and home patient care.
Advantages of the Disposable Patient
Transfer Slider Sheet
- Only 1-2 people are needed to transfer the patient between beds
using the slider sheet, replacing the work that originally required 4-5
people. It saves effort and time, significantly reducing the labor
intensity of medical staff.
- The slider sheet enables "patient-non-moving type"
bed transfer. For patients with fractures, postoperative pain, or
postoperative drainage tubes, it avoids moving or touching the patient,
ensuring stable and safe transfer.
- It effectively prevents secondary injuries to patients. With
previous handling methods, which involved "carrying by hand and
shoulder" with multiple people lifting at different positions with
varying force, patients were prone to discomfort. In some cases, improper
handling even caused injuries to patients. The transfer slider sheet
allows the patient to be moved across the bed as a whole, avoiding
secondary injuries and achieving easy, comfortable, and overall transfer.
How to Use the Disposable Patient
Transfer Slider Sheet
- Lay the transfer slider sheet: Place the side with the plastic
film facing down, spread it out flat, and position the handles on both
sides under the patient’s shoulders and hips respectively.
- Lay simple sheets and care pads: Simple sheets can effectively
resist bacteria, isolate, and prevent contamination. Care pads can block
penetration and absorb blood and body fluids.
- Transfer the patient: Let the patient lie flat on the transfer
slider sheet. Align the patient transfer cart side by side with the
operating table, adjust the transfer cart to the same height as the
operating table, and pull the handles of the transfer slider sheet to move
the patient smoothly onto the cart.
- After treatment or examination, return the patient to the ward.
Align the transfer cart with the hospital bed and adjust them to the same
height, then pull the handles of the transfer slider sheet to move the
patient onto the bed.
- Once the patient’s condition improves enough to turn over, help
the patient turn their body to remove the transfer slider sheet and its
components.
